Home Banking Security Guarantee
Premier America Credit Union is committed to providing a secure environment for your online banking needs. To back up this commitment, we offer you our Home Banking Security Guarantee.
Premier America will cover 100% of any unauthorized transactions on your account, including bill payments and/or any fees imposed by us on such transactions, which were the results of:
-
A violation of Premier America's data network;
-
An error on the part of Premier America's systems or employees or of any of our business partners; or
-
A hacker's access to your active Home Banking session.
We, of course, must ask for your cooperation in preventing losses, and so will guarantee the above transactions only if you:
- Followed the rules and guidelines provided in our Electronic Services Agreements and Disclosures, including the Terms and Conditions of the Bill Payment Service if it is used.
- Selected a PIN that is not easily guessed (for example, don't use birth dates or wedding anniversaries, any portion of your Social Security number, home address or telephone number, or any string of consecutive characters).
- Maintained security of your PIN by not sharing it with anyone and by not recording it in your computer, storing it through an electronic password management service or system, providing it to any aggregator or screen-scraper, or retaining it in any written form.
- Called us to verify any unsolicited email, telephone call or written communications purporting to be from Premier America (or a business partner or vendor of ours) which asks you to input or provide personal information such as an account number or PIN. A Premier America employee will never ask you for your PIN and you should never provide it to us or to any third party.
- Reported any unauthorized access to, or transactions on, your account immediately.
- Installed and updated anti-virus software on your computer. McAfee's VirusScan® and Symantec's Norton AntiVirus are two popular programs.
- Scanned your computer for spyware regularly. (Free spyware removal programs are available on the internet; download only from legitimate companies.)
- Logged off the Home Banking system by clicking Logout when you completed your transactions.
- Did not input data in error, delay scheduling payments or use a malfunctioning personal computer or a computer where you had no assurance of security.
