Bill Pay FAQs
What is the benefit of utilizing Premier America’s Bill Pay, as opposed to one of my biller's websites?
You can pay all your bills in one place, so you only have to remember one username and password. Plus, you can better manage and control your finances by viewing your balance and paying your bills from the same website. You can see in one place where all your money is going.
How long does it take to set up a bill payee within Bill Pay?
It only takes minutes to log in and set up a new bill payee. And, best of all, you only have to enter payee information once. Once a payee is set up, it is fast and easy to make payments in just a few clicks. Note: This feature is not available in Mobile Bill Pay.
Is it more secure to pay bills through Bill Pay or through each loan or utility provider's website?
It typically is more secure to pay your bills within Bill Pay. When submitting a payment online directly to a biller, you often are required to provide your financial account information to authorize a debit from your account – the more institutions or biller sites who have your financial account information, the more at risk you are of corporate security breaches.
What if the funds are not available in my account when I set up a Bill Payment online?
You can log in to Internet Banking and transfer funds from your savings to your checking account to cover payments. Or, you have the flexibility to schedule the payment so it posts when you know the funds will be available in your checking account.
How does paying bills online help protect the environment?
By switching from paper to electronic billing, statements and payments, the average American household would save 6.6 pounds of paper in just one year. Plus, if 20% of U.S. households switched to electronic bills, statements and payments, more than 1.8 million trees would be saved each year.
